LRH - Staff Accountant, Full-time, Permanent

  • Overview

At LRH Larry R Hemeryck CPA Professional Corporation, you’ll join a team of dedicated accountants, bookkeepers and administrative staff working for our clients.

We act as problem solvers, connected by a common cause: turning insight and experience into opportunities and peace of mind for our clients so they can focus on what’s important to them.

Hoping to make the tax and financial paths as navigable as possible for our clients, who come to us from a variety of businesses, industries, and individual situations.

  • In the role

You will be responsible for preparation and completion of working papers and financial statements according to LRH company policies and regulatory standards.

Your assignments will include preparation of tax returns (T1, T2s, T3’s, T4s, T5s, HST), and coordination with applicable government agencies to ensure all queries are addressed and deadlines met.

You will be expected to coordinate and follow-up with our clients to ensure a professional, dedicated, and friendly engagement and will be required to track and document all engagement with clients and keep the team informed of the progress of all ongoing engagement.

You could be asked to:

Work overtime during annual tax season, and any other times as client needs dictate

Provide CRA audit support

Continue Professional Development

Perform analysis of complex accounting issues

Perform financial and systems analysis

  • What you bring to the role

University degree in Accounting

Successful completion of the CFE or working towards a CPA designation

2 - 3 years post graduate experience with exposure to a diverse clientele

Experience with compilation reporting standards

Effective multiple project/client management, teamwork and interpersonal skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work both independently, with little supervision within a strong team environment

Excellent client service skills with an aptitude to understand the clients' business and maintain strong client engagement

Working knowledge of tax software (Caseware, Sage 50, Tax Prep, Quickbooks Online) & Microsoft Word and Excel

LRH offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, salary range - $20 - $30 / hour.

  • What you bring to the role

Post secondary education in accounting/bookkeeping

Knowledge of basic to intermediate tax principles

Knowledge and understanding of required government taxes (payroll, commodity, and other business)

Professional manner regarding confidential and sensitive personal information

Excellent organization skills and attention to detail

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Effective multiple project/client management, teamwork and interpersonal skills

Ability to work both independently, with little supervision, within a strong team environment

Excellent client service skills with an aptitude to understand the clients' business and maintain strong client engagement

Working knowledge of Sage 50, Tax Prep, Quickbooks Online, Word and Excel

LRH offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, salary range - $17 - $19 / hour.
